Flat Jack FAQs
Yes. The 5.5km Flat Jack follows a new course, so returning participants should not rely on the route used in previous years. Please study the current course map, attend the race briefing and follow all marshal directions and event signage.
The event starts on Talbot Road, just down from the Gray Street intersection. It finishes across the timing mats at the Fairlie Village Green.
The race briefing will be held at the start line on Talbot Road. shortly before the event starts. Participants will gather at the Village Green at approx 11:05am and walk together to the start line. Race briefing will be at 11:10am.
The course includes public roads and farm-track surfaces. Some areas may be uneven, wet or muddy, so suitable footwear with good grip is recommended.
No. All roads and tracks remain open. Participants must obey normal road rules, follow marshal directions and remain aware of vehicles and other members of the public.
Yes. Participants travel in both directions along part of Talbot Road. Please keep left, stay aware of approaching participants and allow faster competitors to pass safely.
No. Bikes, scooters and dogs are not permitted on the course. The current event rules allow pushchairs only in the 2.5km Hole in One, not the 5.5km event.
